' In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.' Proverbs 3:6

Today is the very first day of 2021.
In typical Jen fashion, my brain was randomly wondering and I remembered my once blog address. I've spent the last 45 minutes reading back through my posts, and I've concluded that I love this content so much and do not want to lose it. Most of this I have included in our family scrapbooks, but some of the writing is not. It is nothing short of awesome to look back on my own perception and writing from years ago.
Kellen will be 11 next month, Jaxson has a driver's permit, and Jon is an RN in the ICU... and I'm a Realtor... Guess you can safely say things have evolved in our world!  😂👀
OH and we are in a pandemic. whaaaaa?
Typing that makes me feel like I'm stuck in a script of The Walking Dead, sending out a message for someone to hear me and respond. ha. It's not to that point just yet, but based on the political crazy, hysteria of people, and discovering at some point who was involved in creating such a vial thing such as COVID and its lingering and vast side effects, I'd say things could turn for the worst at any time in the years to come. 😖
For now, we are mostly living life as normal. Travel is limited in some areas. Lots of people are terrified and staying home. Lots of shopping online and store pick up. Lots of opinions and TONS of experts that claim to know-all and literally know nothing. (insert eye roll).
I've gone from this is fake, to this is real and deadly, to this is real, it's deadly, and it was implemented on someone's agenda. Wearing masks in public is the current normal. I would post a picture of that fiasco for you, but I refuse to carry on with masks like they are the newest accessory for each outfit. Gag.
We wear them to stores because it is 'required'.
People have somewhat lost their minds... at minimal, their manners and tact. Social media has gone from sharing overly perfect poetic posts of one's family, to typing out the rudest most hateful responses to each others opinions... merely for the sake of argument because...it's fun ? productive? helpful?
I'm asking because I honestly don't know. I have yet to get involved in acting this vial towards fellow human beings. I like to think the holy spirit guards me from that nonsense. I've had a few close calls.
👀
Whew!
Is blogging still a thing? I don't currently read anyone's blog and I have yet to successfully listen to a podcast, and Tik Tok isn't a rabbit hole I want to jump down. 😂 Wow, 41 really is old. That's ok. If it's old fashion to let others have their opinions and not have to rudely respond to everything typed letting the writer know of their 'copious amounts of misspellings and grammatical errors' than I'm ok being exactly old fashion. YIKES its crazy out there.
Talk soon -

Flash Forward...

Flash Forward...
The realization that this one turns SIX Tuesday has Jon and I both looking through old pictures and sobbing hysterically...Ok, fine, maybe Jon isn't the one sobbing, its me.
but he has gone through lots of old pictures lately on this blog and other spots and we are both in disbelief of this six-year old milestone. I'll spare us all the recap of an entire year, but I will say it included Jon breaking his ankle/leg and quite honestly I'd rather not relive that mess.

The buds are still in full force though, as you can see.
We have a new rug rat to add to the mix.
Her name is Cupcake and she's equally as much of a nugget as Tiny is.
We love her all the same.

The above picture demonstrates that I have been forced to resort to extreme measures to get the pictures these days. About 6 months ago he decided he was over all the pictures.
I am not above bribery to get my scrapbook pics!

Age 6:
Baseball under his belt from last year and just started first season of basketball. wants to start karate asap. Loves all things Star Wars. Has about 7 light sabers and thinks he needs more... loves to randomly sing Christian song lyrics, which makes my heart happy...
loves his teacher, Mrs. Crowley and his kindergarten class.
Loves playing with the new neighbor kids at our new house.
The other day I had to go into school for something, so I walked him in. He started walking off with friends and I was like, hey, with my arms open implying a hug, he started to keep walking... so I was like, um, hellooo., he hesitated but smiled and walked back to me for a hug, when I leaned down he whispered, I love you but don't kiss me in front of the first graders.'...  lol
WE ARE THERE.
We have gotten to that dreaded realization. snarl.
I was hoping he could bypass normalcy all-together and just always be my sweet loving boy that put his mom above everyone but God.. sigh
This image turned up on my FB feed the other day, as I posted:
He's still the same sweet faced little boy, only the blue blue eyes have turned aqua blue greenish, and he just lost one of those bottom two teeth this past month. (first tooth to lose.)
I adore my child more than life, but oh what I wouldn't give to have another day to snuggle the little nugget in this picture! sigh

December Hoopla 2014

Some December hoopla...

Our first Davis ginger bread house was a hit.
Num Num Num

And yes its necessary for me to buy my dog a holiday sweater and make
him wear it and take pictures. NECESSARY

Kellen's first class Christmas party.
Jon and I lead up some musical chairs.
Deck the halls!

Cousin cuteness on a fancy couch is necessary for the
holidays as well.

No family pictures this year but some last minute
cute shots from these guys before we
hauled them off to Fastlanes.

--------
We opted to make the Ninja Turtle ornaments for the boy
tree this year. Both boys wanted to add weapons to theirs though, so Jaxson's has nunchucks (ribbon) and Kellen's has swords (also ribbon)

Baseball and hunting, his two favorite things right now along
with Ninja Turtles. K picked these two ornaments out himself.
He loved that it was a 'boy' with the buck and just knew it
was meant to be him! ha

Love that our tree is starting to get homemade ornaments on it.
He made the cross at school, and the pictured ornament at church.
My favorites by far.

-------
Here is our nativity. We love it. All the ornaments and
pictures in the world do not amount to a hill of beans.
THIS is the true meaning of Christmas.

Catch-All from the Fall Months.

We'll just call this the catch-all post since I just realized the last time
I was on here was over the Summer. oops
Here's to playing catch-up on what the Davis crew has been
up to over the past few months:
Kellen started 2-day a week preschool. Dropping him
off the first day was surreal and I wasn't a big fan of it. ha
Seeing his first school picture was fun though. He loves his teacher
and his class is a pretty tight nit group of friends. The only
part he continues to dislike is the NAP.
Oh how I wish I could let him know how someday he will
long for the days he could take a nap in the middle of the day!

We are having no luck in the baby department. The stork must be
off duty... sigh... so this has been a year of realizing my
'baby' is a school boy now. Things like multiple Halloween costumes,
toys every trip to the store... I've just been enjoying it all since apparently
it's going to be my only go at it. boo
He couldn't really decide what to be for Halloween this year so we just go several things.
The common theme in his choices though, is always a hero that fights
the bad guys. This kid loves to keep people safe by fighting the bad dudes.
and this momma loves that her boy is a protector!

The 6th Annual Davis Halloween Party was a fun time for all.
We loved having some new faces in the mix.
I adore this picture.
4 perfect smiles and wearing each others weapons and
masks.. priceless picture. love it.

And my girls were amazing this year.
The queen of hearts and the hunter and the deer.
love love love

We decided to be quirky as the Mustachio family.
It was a hit with the boys until it came time for the actual pictures and then
they were not too thrilled. Don't feel too bad for them, they wore this
for literally 10 seconds and then changed into the
costumes of their choice.

Actual Halloween we went door-to-door in Gramma's
neighborhood and then ended up at the Fall Fest at
our church. Cold but fun night.
Grandma Ida had a birthday. She liked Kellen's green Fastlanes
monkey when he had it one day, so we opted to win her a red one.
She still has it and will keep it until it pops. ha
It's been a year for fun firsts for Kellen.
His first school field trip was to the Corn Maze.
It's always fun seeing your child interact with his friends
and watching their little friendships develop.
Here Patience climbed up in the truck and was
giving good bye hugs.
These two buddies are too cute.
Next was his first school performance. The Thanksgiving
program. He was an Indian.
The grands came out to watch him be a wild Indian.
He did great and was happy to wave at his
adoring fans.

The pumpkin patch with the fam... Jon with Pam and Dana.

Our old Sunday school class at church, getting together for
progressive dinner followed up with White Elephant
gift exchanged. Fun group, fun night.

Another first for the K-man...
His first deer hunting experience happened this Fall.
The boys got up at 4a.m. and headed out to the woods.
After eating some waffles and giving mom a hug, He was raring to go!

Mid-day they still didn't have a deer, but this guy was NOT
ready to call it quits. So Jon took him into town and they
got some lunch, and then he wanted to go back out, so they did.
He crashed out by 4 sitting in his chair. about the
time a deer came up and Jon got it.
He was stoked!! they both were!!
Kellen enjoyed every bit of it until it came time to handle the
'deer business' and then he said it was gross and
refused to take a picture.. ha
Maybe he'll come around to that part, but as for loving the woods and hunting, he is alllll about it. they have gone back a few times since.
He thinks deer meat is good. (that makes one of us.. don't tell Jon)
The Jaxsonator blows through every other weekend
and we try to enjoy our time with him.
Lately its been lots of shopping and lots of Fastlane trips while
he is here.
A few weeks back we went to visit Clay and Rach in Little Rock.
Sadly this snapshot from Clay's phone has been our only family picture
from this Fall. Maybe next year we will get them scheduled better.
This Fall in our area has been beautiful and we are beyond blessed to
lead our lives.
From the D family to yours, count your blessings and name them
one by one.
